For those who want to start a new career path.. Abu Dhabi launches the “Be a Teacher” initiative

Today, the Department of Education and Knowledge – Abu Dhabi announced the launch of the “Be a Teacher” initiative, which allows specialized experts from various fields to embark on a new career path in the educational sector, after completing an accredited one-year postgraduate diploma in the field of education.

The initiative targets Emirati citizens and residents alike, which contributes to enhancing diversity in teacher cadres and bridging the gap between theoretical and applied knowledge.

The initiative provides the opportunity for all those who wish to achieve a tangible impact in the field of education, including retirees and parents who are dedicated to caring for their families, provided that they possess strong communication skills, a passion for sharing knowledge, and flexibility and patience to face new challenges.

The department sponsors the first batch, which includes 125 candidates, who are carefully selected to join a one-year intensive training program to obtain a postgraduate diploma, in partnership with a number of leading higher education institutions in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, including Abu Dhabi University, Al Ain University, and the Emirates College for Educational Development. Successful candidates will be employed in Educational Partnerships schools across the emirate.

The program’s curriculum provides the knowledge, skills and tools necessary to prepare future teachers, in line with modern teaching concepts, as it includes the basics of developing educational plans, activities to improve learning experiences, and developing effective assessment tools.

The diploma also focuses on classroom management, leadership, and communication strategies, with the aim of promoting an interactive and inspiring learning environment.

Participants in the program will learn about innovative teaching methods and ways to employ technology to continuously enhance the impact of the educational process. They will also gain in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of educational strategies, student motivation techniques, and ways to adapt to diverse educational needs.

The “Be a Teacher” program represents an exceptional opportunity to leave a sustainable legacy through education, as it allows participants to enrich classrooms and provide them with practical perspectives, enhance learning experiences, and empower the next generation of students from educational partnership schools.

Applicants are required to meet the specified age requirement, and to have a bachelor’s degree in any specialty from any accredited university. The department has specified the application mechanism through the following link:
