The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has announced the granting of institutional licensing to 16 high education institutions in Dubai in cooperation with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai. This includes institutions operating in the free zones of the Emirate of Dubai and have an educational permit to practice their activities as a branch of an external high education institution.
This came within the framework of the continuing efforts of the Ministry to achieve the targets of the government bureaucratic tolerance program by simplifying and facilitating the services provided to higher education institutions,
Ahmed Ibrahim Al Saadi, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Higher Education and Assistant Scientific Research for the Acting Education Operations Sector, Director of International Education Support and Scholarships Department, stated that the decisions to grant institutional licensing come within the framework of the Ministry’s efforts to unify the procedures for licensing higher education institutions between the ministry and local educational bodies in line with With the targets of the government bureaucracy program, it ensures shortening the time and procedures necessary to complete the license.
Al -Saadi said: “These decisions come as a result of the recently concluded cooperation agreement between the Ministry and the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai to enhance joint coordination in the field of licensing and accreditation of higher education institutions in the Emirate of Dubai, and to build an attractive and high -quality educational environment, and is able to attract the best educational institutions International, which contributes to enhancing the competitiveness of the world in the higher education sector.
For his part, Dr. Wafi Dawood, Executive Director of the Strategy and Institutional Efficiency Sector in the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai, said: “Granting the institutional license to about 16 branches of international universities in Dubai Free Zones is an important step within the framework of the cooperation agreement with our partners in the Ministry of Higher Education and Research Scientific, in order to enhance the business environment according to the highest standards of speed and efficiency, to keep pace with the targets of the 2033 education strategy in Dubai aimed at consolidating Dubai’s position as a leading global education destination for all stages, attracting more international students and educators, and attracting prestigious international higher education institutions to guarantee Providing life learning opportunities, and enhancing the UAE’s position as a global center for innovation and academic excellence.
The ministerial licensing decisions enable the students of these institutions to obtain the ministry’s certification of certificates, degrees of grades and any documents pertaining to students, and confirms the Ministry’s recognition of the certificate issued by these educational institutions.
The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research had concluded a cooperation agreement with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority in Dubai with the aim of facilitating the licenses and accreditation of higher education institutions in the Emirate of Dubai, with the aim of enhancing the quality of education and ensuring that local educational institutions match the international standards, which contributes to attracting more prestigious institutions And raise the efficiency of the higher education system in the country.
It is noteworthy that the number of higher education institutions licensed by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research has reached 93 educational institutions, including federal and local public universities, private universities, and prestigious international universities branches, while the number of educational institutions that obtained the institutional license in Dubai reached 36 High education, including institutions operating in the free zones of the Emirate of Dubai and have an educational permit to practice their activities as a branch of an external high education institution.
The Ministry also intends to review and study any new requests to establish new high education institutions, whether a branch of an external or private institution. In the event that all documents and requirements are fulfilled, the institutional license for universities can be issued within one week.
