HSBC appoints first Emirati woman to leadership position

HSBC has announced the appointment of Shaikha Al Marri as Head of Global Banking Coverage in the UAE, making her the first Emirati woman to hold this leadership position in the bank’s global banking sector in the country.

“Sheikha Al Marri has extensive experience in delivering outstanding customer service and leading high-performing teams,” said Mohamed Abdulrahman Al Marzooqi, CEO of HSBC UAE. “Her appointment underscores the bank’s commitment to nurturing and developing emerging Emirati talent, and our commitment to continue strengthening our support for our customers’ long-term growth plans in the UAE. Her appointment is a significant addition to our senior leadership team as we continue to deliver on our Group growth strategy in the important UAE market.”
