Launching the first professional academy to develop the skills of Emirati nursing personnel

The Emirates Medical Preparedness and Response Program “Jahiya”, the National Academy of Nursing, was launched in a joint initiative with the National Training Center “Tadareb”, coinciding with the Abu Dhabi Nursing Forum and the announcement of Abu Dhabi’s accreditation as the first international center for emergency training from the American Nursing Foundation, with the aim of developing the skills of national cadres, And building the capabilities and readiness of the first line of defense of male and female nurses working in government and private hospitals in the various emirates of the country.

The academy is the first initiative of its kind to unify vocational training curricula and standards, and build a base of leaders of trainers accredited by the American Nursing Foundation. It was designed in accordance with the best international standards to hone nurses’ skills and provide them with the knowledge and practical experience they need, to provide high-quality nursing care in partnership with state institutions. Health, academic, governmental and private.

The academy aims to help nursing staff move confidently to the highest professional level, acquire high competencies to provide better patient care, improve critical thinking skills, make clinical decisions, enhance continuous professional development, contribute to retaining nursing staff, raise the level of efficiency, increase job satisfaction, and improve Patient experience according to an integrated, unified and approved approach based on modern international best practices.

The CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative and the CEO of the Emirates Medical Preparedness and Response Program “Jaheziya,” Dr. Adel Al-Shammari Al-Ajmi, confirmed that our wise leadership is keen to invest in human resources, especially specialized ones, and is working to create a fertile environment for creating leaders in the health sector by adopting innovative initiatives. It contributes to attracting the best expertise and training centers to the UAE, and creating partnerships between the state’s governmental, private and non-profit institutions, to adopt initiatives and programs that contribute to building capabilities, readiness, preparedness and response according to the best standards.

For her part, American expert Emily Boren, representative of the American Nursing Foundation, said: The National Academy of Nursing will provide accredited training courses and practical workshops using simulation and virtual reality technology, and its graduates will be awarded international certificates.

She noted that “Jaheziya” succeeded in the pilot phase in organizing accredited training courses in partnership with the American Nursing Foundation, to establish the first accredited training center for nurses in an initiative that is the first of its kind outside the United States of America.
