“Change in life is about creativity, development and excellence, especially when it entails achieving the interests of the public.” With these words, the Director of the Customer Service Department at the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Omar Abdul Rahman Ahli, began his speech to “Emirates Today”, adding that serving people is his hobby and his highest goal. Every day, by virtue of his work, he receives important requests and assignments, and he always seeks to complete them in the shortest possible time, and his happiness reaches its maximum when he sees signs of satisfaction rising. The faces of the dealers, and his belief in the saying “Loving people is a treasure” increases.

He pointed out that he has special rituals outside of work, including travelling, spending as much time as possible with his children walking in the streets of Dubai, and narrating the development of each region in it, pointing out that his hobby is also watching local and international football matches.

44 certificates of appreciation and honor

The Director of the Customer Service Department at the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment, Omar Abdul Rahman Ahli, received 44 certificates of appreciation and honor from various government and private agencies, in addition to 65 training courses in the government and private sectors. He also obtained the Japanese Kaizen Quality Certificate, and the Internal Evaluator Certificate for the Corporate Performance System in General. 2012, and European Quality Assessor in 2015.

He served as a member of the Aid Committee of the Mohammed bin Rashid Humanitarian and Charitable Foundation.

In detail, my family, who was born in the Sikkat Al Khail area in Dubai, said: “I was born into a family in which an atmosphere of love, cooperation and care prevailed. All of its members were keen to provide me with all means of education, believing in the importance of education in the development of society and the success of the individual, and they taught me that success has four axes.” These are: fear of God in any work we do, keenness on education, and constant reading, in addition to change by striving for development and staying away from routine, because the person who sees change is not important remains… “In its place, without movement.”

He added: “The most prominent moments that shaped my personality and shaped myself were when my father took me to his workplace at Rashid Hospital, where I saw the tasks he was doing, all of which were focused on serving patients, since he was a nurse, and I realized that success is in serving people and making them happy.” .

He continued: “I studied in government schools, so I obtained my primary school certificate in Al-Ahmadiyya School, then I passed the middle school in Al-Muhallab School, then secondary school in Dubai School, after which I moved to reside in the city of Al-Ain, where I joined the Emirates University, and in 1990 I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geography, English and Islamic studies, and I was not satisfied with that, but I continued my education and obtained a diploma in quality management at the European University in 2007.”

My family continued: “After I graduated, I worked for seven months as an employee in a private company in the Public Relations Department with a salary of 4,000 dirhams. After that, I moved to government work in the Ministry of Education as an Islamic education teacher, and I remained there for a year during which I was keen to develop the education system. However, I was subjected to severe harassment that forced me to leave my job and join the Dubai Courts. After four years, I was transferred to the Public Prosecution, where I remained for five years, as I rose from department head to director. Department of Criminal Departments, then to Director of the Development and Quality Office, then I moved to the Mohammed bin Rashid Housing Establishment following its establishment in late 2007, where I was appointed Head of the Strategy Department, then Head of the Loans and Grants Department, and finally Director of the Customer Service Department.

He said: “My work in the Development and Quality Department at the Public Prosecution in Dubai made a big difference in my life by moving me to a new path and keeping pace with its development. Quality is the foundation of every institution, because it paves the way for development and advancement in services, and one of the most prominent challenges I faced during my work in the Public Prosecution is It was when His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, launched the Dubai Government Excellence Program in 1997, concerned with the government sector achieving global levels of excellence, which made us in “Compete with other government agencies in developing services, and shifting from the traditional system to a system of distinction and creativity.”

My family stated: “A successful leader must be characterized by a number of qualities, most notably shrewdness, and his management style should be based on knowledge and excellence, and have a loving personality for employees, and be keen to meet their needs,” adding: “Heading a department or institution does not mean controlling the Employees, but managing the minds of employees in order to achieve the goals and directives of the state’s rational leadership.”

He pointed out that his career progression from employee to department manager contributed to achieving several things, including making steady progress towards achieving his goals and performing the duties assigned to him as quickly as possible.

He believes that loving people is the love of God, especially when it is linked to making them happy. He stressed that he is proud to be the director of the Customer Service Department because its field is serving citizens and fulfilling their requests, which requires him to make double efforts to make them happy and overcome the obstacles facing them, adding that the human desire should not stop at any limit. Certainly, it must keep pace with development in all aspects.

My family added that a person who wants progress and development must change on the practical and social levels, given that change is an urgent necessity because human beings by nature love change, pointing out that the secret of countries’ development in various fields, educational, economic, and infrastructure, is that they are not satisfied with routine, and they tended to Changing its strategies, referring in this regard to the statement of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, when he visited the Nobel Museum, in which he stated: “With will and patience, we can reach our goal. We must arm the leadership, government, and youth with the will to change in all areas that make our people happy and contribute to the development of our country scientifically, culturally, economically, and socially.”

My family said that he has three children who are still in school, and he is keen to spend as much time with them as possible during vacations, and narrate to them the stages of Dubai’s development.
