Selling outlets and major “cooperatives” for retail trade revealed their intention to expand the creation of new branches in the local markets during the coming period.
The “Union Cooperative” told “Emirates Today” that there are expansion plans that include three projects this year, as well as plans for development and maintenance work in various branches and commercial centers, while the “Sharjah Cooperative” intends to open between two branches and three new branches expected to be completed before the end of 2025.
In turn, the “Lulu Global Group” is implementing large expansion plans by opening 12 new outlets during the years 2025 and 2026.
Officials in those outlets told «Emirates Today» that the local retail markets are witnessing many stimuli that encourage the expansion outlets, most notably: the high consumer demand with the support of population growth, the emergence of many new residential and real estate complexes, the boom and momentum of tourism and business sectors, and competitiveness.
“Union Cooperative”
In detail, the CEO of the “Union Cooperative”, Mohamed Al -Hashemi, said that “the cooperative is currently working on implementing expansion strategies through new outlets throughout Dubai”, revealing that the expansion plans include three projects during the current year 2025 that include the area: Nad Al -Sheba, in addition to the Khawaneej area, where commercial land was invested in the second Khawaneej area, in cooperation with the Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Foundation, as well as a project To create the first branch of (Al -Ittihad Cooperative) in the Rokan residential complex located in (Wadi Al -Safa) in the Dubai Land, behind the Arab Representatives.
Al -Hashemi added: “The expansion of the increasing growth of cooperative services is not only related to this growth efficient and sustainability, as the cooperative seeks to make its provided services sustainable and competitive and commensurate with the areas in which it works.”
Al -Hashemi pointed out that there are projects with the “cooperative”, as part of its plans, for the development and maintenance work in various branches and commercial centers, in addition to improving the rental spaces according to the need and the requirements of the areas served by the “cooperative”.

For his part, the director of institutional communication at the “Lulu Global Group”, Nanda Kumar, said that “the local retail markets are currently witnessing many stimuli that encourage many institutions operating in the sector to expand and publish their branches to increase their market shares of retail spaces in the market.”
He added: «One of the most prominent current motivations: the high consumer demand at great rates with support from population growth, the emergence of many new residential and real estate complexes, and the popularity and momentum of the tourism and business sectors.
Kumar revealed that “(the global Lulu) is working to implement major expansion plans to support the spread of its outlets, which currently reach 110 branches, where work is opened to open 12 new outlets during the years 2025 and 2026”.
Kumar said that “the expansion of the branches is among the prominent competitiveness mechanisms, as the institutions were able to keep pace with the growth of consumer demand in the new residential areas throughout the state.”
“Sharjah Cooperative”
In the same context, the Director of Marketing and Relations in the “Sharjah Cooperative”, Faisal Khaled Al -Naboodah, agreed that “the growth of consumer demand in the retail markets and the high competitiveness of competitiveness, among the most prominent factors supporting the expansion of new outlets in the local retail markets.”
He said: «(Sharjah Cooperative) currently has about 69 sales outlets, and is working to implement new expansions that will include the opening of two branches to three new branches expected to be completed before the end of this year, in response to consumer demand in many regions.
In turn, the director of sales in one of the retailers chains, Dilip Fishal, said that “the expansion of the new branches and ports has become one of the most prominent competitiveness mechanisms during the current period between the institutions operating in the retail trade sector, especially in light of the great growth in consumer demand, with the support of population growth and the emergence of new residential areas and complexes.”
