Scheduled seat capacity on international flights at Dubai International Airport, the world’s largest air transport hub, has exceeded the five million seat mark (10 million in both directions) for the fifth time on a monthly basis since the beginning of this year, setting a record, the highest ever, according to OAG, an international provider of airport and airline data.
According to data obtained by “Emirates Today”, a copy of which was obtained, Dubai Airport recorded more than five million scheduled seats during January 2024, compared to 4.73 million seats in the following February, rising to about five million scheduled seats in March, and about 4.88 million seats in April of this year.
Dubai International Airport managed to surpass the five million mark again in May, while it recorded 4.93 million seats in June, rising again to levels of around 5.1 and 5.16 million seats in July and August, respectively.
Dubai International maintained its position as the world’s largest airport in terms of international passenger numbers for the tenth consecutive year in 2023, as the airport strengthened its gains last year to rise to second place globally in terms of total international and domestic passenger numbers combined in 2023, for the first time in its history.
Dubai Airport has once again confirmed its position as a major driver of economic growth in Dubai, receiving 44.9 million passengers during the first half of this year, an increase of 8% compared to the same period last year.
Dubai International Airport is connected to 269 destinations in 106 countries around the world, via 101 international airlines, enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading global hub for business and logistics services.

Strengthening cooperation with Gulf airports
