The rule of Emirati tennis, Thamer Magdi Ali, is looking to be the first citizen’s rule in the category of “general referee” to participate in the arbitration of international championships, especially in the Grand Slam (Grand Salam), taking advantage of the experience he gained by participating in managing the international championships organized by the UAE, Especially in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, such as Dubai Free Market Championships, Mabla and Habtor, in addition to international youth championships (ITF).

Thamer Magdy Ali (26 years old) is the youngest citizen’s rule in tennis.

The young ruling believes that the precious opportunities provided by the Emirates Tennis Federation, as well as the directives of his father, Dr. Magdy Ali, who was an international “rule”, enabled him to appear at a distinguished level in the championships in which he participated.

Thamer Magdy stressed that the distinguished infrastructure in the field of sports owned by the UAE, and the high position produced by ISIS global tennis championships, such as Dubai Free Market Championships, Mabla and Habtor, encouraged him to look forward to becoming a global referee in the future.

Thamer told «Emirates Today»: “My beginning was from Al -Nasr Club, where I was a tennis player, before I went to my first experience, a line of line when I was 14 years old in the Al Habtoor International Championship in a rare opportunity for any tennis referee, and I continued my career until I got the chance of arbitration in Dubai free market tournaments, with the support of the Tennis Federation, was nominated for arbitration in international and external tournaments such as the Davis Cup, “stressing that it is working to develop itself by following all new tennis.

He continued: «The tasks of the referee in tennis are the most difficult among other sports referees, due to the accuracy of the decisions that the referee must take during the match, and his need to overcome the psychological pressure generated by the strength of the competitions, which I learned during my international participation.

He concluded his speech by saying: “My ambition is to be the first general referee to participate in managing the major international championships outside the Emirates, especially in the Great Slam (Grand Salam), which is an ambition that needs work and development and I seek permanently.”
