The data indicates that the production of the countries of the Cooperation Council of crude oil in 2023 amounted to 17 million barrels per day, which represents 23.2% of the total global production despite the decrease in production in the aforementioned year by 6.8% compared to 2022.
The reserves of the Cooperation Council countries of crude oil in 2023 amounted to 511.9 billion barrels, which represents 32.6% of the total global reserves, recording the average annual growth rate of 0.3% during the period from 2014 to 2023. The consumption of gasoline in the countries of the Cooperation Council in 2023 amounted to 336.6 million barrels, while the consumption of gas oil (diesel) reached 299.7 million barrels, while the rest of the derivatives witnessed varying quantities between 34.8 million to 268.3 million barrels.
With regard to natural gas, the reserves of the Cooperation Council countries in 2023 amounted to 44.195 billion cubic meters, which represents 21.4% of the total global reserves of this article, and an increase of 0.2% compared to 2022.
The export of the Cooperation Council countries for natural gas in 2023 recorded about 180.9 billion cubic meters, which represents 13.1% of the total global export and an average annual growth rate in exports of 2.5% during the period from 2014 to 2023. The production of the Gulf Cooperation Council states reached gas The natural marketer in 2023 is about 464.2 billion cubic meters, which represents 10.8% of the total global production, recording a rise of 1.4% compared to 2022.
In renewable energy indicators, the capacity of renewable energy stations in the GCC countries amounted to about 10 thousand and 742 megawatts in 2023, an increase of 74.7% compared to 2022, as the capacity increased, especially in recent years, in light of what the council is witnessing in implementing policies related to the use of renewable energy instead of energy Al -Hawafi. The energy produced from the stations in 2023 amounted to about 14,403 gigawatts per hour, an increase of 72.4% compared to 2022.
