The Ministry of Education adopted a system of letters instead of grades in the final results certificates for the first semester of the twelfth grade, including (A+), (A), (B+), (B), and (C), which sparked a state of confusion among parents. Public school students, as they are not aware of what these letters represent, are calling on the Ministry to clarify their meanings in order to accurately determine the levels of their children.
The Ministry had provided the information system with the results of the first semester exams, the day before yesterday, and requested school administrations, in an email, to announce the results, noting that results reports are available in the system, and students can view them through the student portal only.
One of the principals of public schools in Dubai, who preferred to remain anonymous, pointed out that what is available from the school program is only downloading the results, as the principal of each school downloads the results, prints them, and distributes them to the students, adding that the old system included the student’s grades in each subject, and thus… Its level is easy to determine.
He stressed that they were surprised by the system of letters in the results instead of grades, when the results were announced the day before yesterday, as the Ministry had not informed them of this system before, pointing out that the students’ certificates in some schools included an interpretation of the letters, including that the letter (A+) means that the student’s grade is limited to Between 95 and 100, and (B) means that the score is between 90 and 94, up to the last letters that express the student’s score in each subject, and his final score in all subjects.
