The police identified Susan’s killer after 5 hours

Dubai Police announced the arrest of the murderer of Lebanese artist Suzan Tamim, who was 39 years old, according to the Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, Major General Khamis Matar Al Muzainah, who refused to disclose the identity of the perpetrator “due to the ongoing investigations into the case within the country to which he belongs,” but “ Emirates Today obtained the name of the accused through sources in his country, and he is (M.M.A.) (Egyptian nationality).

Al-Muzaina said, in a press conference yesterday, that the accused carried out his crime within only 12 minutes, and left the country via Dubai Airport, heading to his country, only an hour and a half after he committed the crime.

He confirmed that the Criminal Investigation Department of Dubai Police received a report of Tamim’s murder from one of her relatives at approximately eight-thirty in the evening on July 28, and revealed the identity of the killer only five hours later, pointing out that “the crime was well planned,” as the killer entered The tower in which the victim lived in the Marina area in Dubai under the pretext of delivering a message to her, then he went directly to her apartment No. 2204. When she asked him about his identity, he revealed to her from the Magic Eye a letter bearing the logo of the real estate company that She bought the apartment from her, and when she opened the door, he slaughtered her directly, using a knife he was carrying with him.

Al-Mazeina explained the full details of the crime and the progress of the investigations, saying that the police received the report on July 28 from the victim’s cousin, who stated that he had called the assassinated artist more than once, but she did not respond, which greatly worried him, given that he had an appointment with her to complete procedures related to her. He immediately decided to go to her apartment to check on her. Upon his arrival, he was surprised to find the door of the apartment open, and his cousin drowned in her blood, so he called the police, who immediately moved with a team of investigation and forensic officers.

He stated that investigations proved that the victim had an appointment at nine o’clock in the morning to undergo a traffic examination to obtain a driver’s license, and she called the Transportation Agency.

He pointed out that the corporation actually sent a taxi driver to wait for her near Al-Remal Tower 1, where she resides, at the appointed time. The driver tried to call her more than once, but she did not answer his call, which confirmed to criminal investigation officers that she had been killed before nine in the morning.

Al-Mazeina revealed that the victim was wearing going out clothes when she was killed, and not her pajamas or home clothes, as some media outlets reported, which also indicates that she actually prepared to leave the apartment early, but before nine o’clock, while the perpetrator wore double clothes, and after his execution. He replaced his crime and put it in the firebox on the 21st floor, then came out with other clothes, noting that the clothes he was wearing at the time of his crime were in the possession of Dubai Police.

He pointed out that the Investigation Department formed about 60 research teams to cover the assumptions made for the crime, especially in light of what was reported about the victim’s disputes with parties in Lebanon, Egypt and Britain. The main goal was to determine the connection between these differences and the incident, and then determine who benefited from the killing of the victim.

The Acting Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police suggested that there were vengeful motives behind the crime, given that the perpetrator did not steal any of the contents of the apartment, and left immediately after committing the crime, pointing out that the criminal investigation men were able, in cooperation with forensic experts, to determine the identity of the killer, despite the accuracy of its execution. The crime was committed through a mistake he made that he did not imagine that the Dubai Police would notice, perhaps because he felt that he would not be able to catch him after he fled, or because he did not adequately appreciate the competence of the criminal investigation and investigation men who reached the conclusion. His identity was revealed only five hours after receiving the report.

He pointed out that the killer left the country via Dubai Airport at around 10:30. He had a previous reservation to return, but he returned early after completing the crime so that his matter would not be revealed.

He continued, “The manner in which the killer carried out his crime indicates his previous knowledge of the details of the victim’s life. Therefore, he stayed in Dubai for only two days, during which he committed the crime and left.”

Al-Mazinah confirmed that the Criminal Investigation Department did not press charges until they had confirmed beyond reasonable doubt the identity of the perpetrator and the circumstances of the crime.

He added, “The General Department of Investigations collected sufficient evidence to convict the accused, and a delegation including Deputy Director of the Investigation Department, Colonel Khalil Al-Mansouri, who led the research teams in the case, went to the friendly Arab country – as he described it – to which the perpetrator belongs, and the delegation found complete cooperation at all levels.” After ensuring the validity and adequacy of the evidence, the killer was arrested only five days after the delegation arrived and the information was exchanged.”

Al-Muzaina indicated that Dubai Police sent an urgent recovery file to that country to recover the killer, pointing out that “investigations are still ongoing with him to ascertain whether there are others involved in the crime,” noting that the Criminal Investigation and Research Department is following up on the case until its procedures are completed.

He explained that much of the information published on news sites and international news agencies is completely incorrect, such as mutilation of the victim’s body, pointing out that the killer slaughtered her and left. He also denied the validity of what was reported about her staying up late with others in her apartment the night before the crime occurred. .

Al-Muzina said that Dubai Police preferred to conceal the information it had so as not to waste the efforts it had made, stressing that it did not seek to achieve personal glory or prove the competence of its men, especially in the Criminal Investigation Department, who, according to Al-Muzina, were patient with some people’s insinuations of poor performance. In this particular case, even though they reached the perpetrator within a record time of no more than five hours.

The defendant’s bill: $3 million

The accused (M.A.) of killing the Lebanese artist Suzan Tamim confessed to his crime, after he was arrested last Thursday by the Egyptian police in the bathroom of a ship restaurant anchored off an island in the Zamalek area (one of the upscale neighborhoods in Cairo). The accused confirmed, according to news reported by the media Yesterday, a relationship existed between him and a prominent businessman in Egypt.

The source told Emirates Al-Youm that the perpetrator works in one of the contracting companies owned by the businessman, and that he admitted to receiving three million dollars from the latter in exchange for carrying out the crime.

A report was issued to the MMA, No. 11408, while Egyptian judicial authorities investigated the accused and interrogated the Egyptian businessman. But other sources reported that the accused later changed his statements about hiring him to carry out the crime.

The Egyptian Public Prosecutor, Counselor Abdel Majeed Mahmoud, decided to ban publication on the case, and the independent newspaper Al-Dustour was confiscated from the market because it contained a report on the case.

Various media outlets linked the name of the well-known Egyptian businessman Hisham Talaat Mostafa to the incident, considering him “the instigator of the murder.”

She explained that MMA is a former security man who worked at the Four Seasons Hotel in Sharm El-Sheikh, which is affiliated with the Talaat Mostafa Group.

She described him as the hidden man, or the upper hand, of the businessman who had raised several speculations about his relationship with Susan and his escape after the murder.

During the investigations, the accused revealed – according to news websites – that he works as a security man in one of Talaat Mostafa’s companies in the Sharm El-Sheikh resort, and confessed to committing the murder in exchange for three million dollars. She indicated that the Egyptian authorities are investigating the accused, and that they will prepare a complete file for the case that includes the accused’s confessions. Once completed, a senior Egyptian parliamentary delegation will carry it to Dubai for consultations and to complete investigations. In the same context, Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper quoted businessman Hisham Talaat Mostafa as confirming that he had no connection to the murder of Suzanne Tamim, and his apology for appearing on the “10 PM” program on the Egyptian Dream channel the day before yesterday evening, despite his previous announcement. He expressed his intention to communicate with the program. This led some to believe that he was detained, but yesterday Mustafa’s appearance on the “Good Morning Egypt” program and his talk about economic issues led some to consider the matter as an indirect attempt to confirm his lack of connection to the crime. It is noteworthy that the Lebanese artist was associated, while she was in Egypt, with businessman Hisham Talaat Mostafa for a period of up to a year and a half, and he provided her with great support during that period, and was kind to her, according to the testimony of those close to her.
