The Swimming Cup focuses on “those with limited experience”

The Chairman of the Business Administration Committee of the Swimming Federation, Abdullah Al-Wahaibi, confirmed that the Swimming Development Cup Championship is part of the Federation’s vision aimed at providing continuous development opportunities for swimmers, and supporting the swimming community by enhancing technical competence and fair competition, indicating that the championship focuses on swimmers with experience. Ltd., allowing them to develop their skills by competing in a variety of races.

The Developmental Swimming Cup was launched yesterday, with the participation of 600 male and female swimmers from 80 nationalities, representing 26 government clubs and private academies. The races will be held at the Hamdan Sports Complex in Dubai, in cooperation with the Dubai Sports Council and Apex Sports Company.

Abdullah Al-Wahaibi told Emirates Al-Youm: “The championship was designed for the developmental level, so that swimmers with slower time numbers compete, compared to the competitive level, which provides an encouraging and fair environment for similar technical levels. During the championship, swimmers will compete in various races, including speed and endurance races, with more than 250 colorful medals distributed.”

He added: “The organizing committee will distribute certificates of appreciation to the coaches, in recognition of their dedication to developing swimmers’ skills. All participating swimmers will also receive accredited certificates of participation, to support them on the technical and academic levels, and to enhance their future opportunities. Through this step, the federation seeks to encourage swimmers and their parents, and to provide all forms of support to advance the sport of swimming in the Emirates.”
