At the global level, the award also seeks to build bridges of communication between the Arabic language and diverse societies, by motivating participants to find innovative solutions that contribute to facilitating the learning and teaching of the Arabic language, and enhancing its presence in international forums.

“Arabic Reading Challenge”

The “Arab Reading Challenge” is the largest knowledge competitive initiative of its kind in the Arab world, to develop the passion for reading among young people, and to instill in them a culture of reading through the commitment of more than a million students to participate in reading 50 million books during each academic year, so that reading becomes a daily habit.

The challenge targets school students from the first grade of primary school until the 12th grade, as it aims to establish the culture of reading in the Arabic language, as a language capable of keeping pace with all forms of literature, science, and knowledge, and to endear Arab youth to the Arabic language, and encourage them to use it in their daily dealings. The challenge also seeks to enhance the importance of Cognitive reading helps build self-learning skills and build the value system of young people, by informing them of the values, customs and beliefs of other cultures.

It is considered the largest historical linguistic project in the world that achieves a qualitative leap in documenting the Arabic language and serves current and future generations through 127 volumes, containing 12,141 roots and 348,406 witnesses. From the Holy Qur’an, the Prophet’s Hadith, poetry and prose, with a total estimated at about 14 million words. It took For 7 years, the project work team included 780 participants, including editors, proofreaders, supervisors, and administrators, from 20 Arab institutions, including a language academy, a university, and a center, to achieve comprehensive documentation.

The “Zai” platform is a new digital platform launched by Zayed University, with the aim of developing Arabic language education, by providing innovative tools and resources to support teachers, students and researchers.
