His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice Chairman of the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, chaired the first meeting of the Council for the year 2025 at the headquarters of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Abu Dhabi.

The Council discussed the priorities of the next phase within the new strategic directions, including developments in the work of the Ministries of Education, Higher Education and Scientific Research, and plans to activate the Ministries of Community and Family Empowerment.

At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness stressed the responsibility and strategic role played by the Council to direct plans and policies in education, human development and society towards single, interconnected goals that reflect the vision and aspirations of the leadership.

His Highness said that the new formation of the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, with its members, committees and areas of work, reflects the great and precious confidence placed by the leadership, which pushes us to a new stage in exerting effort and achieving the achievements that the UAE deserves.

His Highness praised the efforts of the authorities in determining their priorities for the next stage, stressing the importance of intensifying cooperation with all partners and members of society in order to implement the plans and strategies drawn up.

His Highness urged all members of the Council and their work teams to be creative with innovative and creative opportunities and ideas, to implement plans and policies that focus on impact and not on outputs.

His Highness added: “Education is the focus of development, and today we have the opportunity to harmonize the education system with the development of the individual and the empowerment of society and the family, with the participation of everyone. Developed societies are built on solid knowledge foundations, which is what we seek to consolidate, by building a comprehensive and integrated national educational and societal system that focuses on It develops human capital, empowers society, and consolidates its values ​​and identity, and covers all stages of an individual’s life from his inception until he establishes his family and contributes to his community, in a way that contributes In shaping a bright future for future generations in the UAE.”

For her part, Her Highness Sheikha Maryam bint Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, confirmed that the Council is moving steadily towards achieving its goals in a way that reflects the vision and aspirations of the leadership, by implementing plans and policies studied from their roots with a strategic and integrated approach that focuses on impact. It is based on the local context and enhances the values ​​of participation and close cooperation between all partners.

Her Highness said that the Council begins the new year with more ambition and determination to continue the journey of developing Emirati society, according to strategic directions that focus on people, and pay great attention to various aspects concerned with developing their skills and abilities and unleashing their energies and creativity, with an emphasis on the strategic importance of continuous learning, as it is a life necessity. Every individual needs it, and it is an ongoing responsibility that falls on all members of society.
