The head of the Human Resources Department at the Emirates Development Bank, Dr. Abeer Al -Sumaiti, said that “the bank is constantly keen on developing human capital, which in turn promotes the implementation of the bank’s success and achieving its goals at the sector level, by launching many initiatives, programs, training opportunities and activities, varying between establishing partnerships with different parties to attract the best competencies and skills, and organize open events and sessions Which enhances the integration and participation of employees in the bank’s development operations, as well as enabling human cadres to present their constructive ideas and visions, appreciate their efforts and enhance their capabilities, and many others. ”

Al -Sumaiti added to «Emirates Today»: “One of the most important skills required to work in the Emirates Bank for Development, in addition to job qualifications, ambition and a culture of respect, innovation and excellence, active participation, and the ability to team work to achieve our national mission in development, and we also attach great importance to the continuous endeavor to develop and learn, and commitment to high professionalism and professionalism, to ensure the achievement of the bank’s vision and strategic goals.” The bank is constantly seeking to attract Emirati cadres and develop its skills in the banking sector.

She continued: «During the year 2024, the Human Resources Department launched more than 230 training programs that included basic fields in business, technical skills, luxury and leadership, and we focus on strengthening the role of women and their participation by launching initiatives to enable them, as we launched dialogue sessions with the CEO, with the aim of developing and promoting leadership talents for women.

She pointed out that «the bank also provides many training initiatives and programs that support the empowerment of skills for new employees and graduates, including the (Leadership Skills Development) program for citizen cadres of high and promising competencies, and the program (certified executives) designated to enhance the culture of vocational training, as well as the program (the horizons of artificial intelligence) that the bank recently launched, which contributes to Empowering team members with the basic leadership and technological skills to keep pace with future developments, in addition to practical training initiatives and workshops managed by experts in the field to ensure that they are able to perform their work successfully.

“For new Emirati graduates, we launched an integrated vocational training program, which allowed groups of local university students the opportunity to join a four -month training period to gain real practical experience, and the qualified trainees managed to move directly to the Emirati graduate program, which provided them with a clear path for professional development and joining the work team after successfully passing the program.”

She added: «The program (Emirati graduates), which the bank launched about two years ago, achieved a very remarkable success, as the participants gave the opportunity to move between various jobs, within their departments, which provided them with an integrated understanding of their fields Specialization in a 18 -month timetable, before they officially joined the team.

Al -Sumaiti continued: “We launched a training camp during the past year for entrepreneurship for Emirati students, to enable them with basic skills and knowledge in the world of entrepreneurship, which allowed them to benefit from training workshops and obtain advice and guidance by sector experts.”

And she continued, “We are always present in the events and exhibitions that support opportunities for new graduates, and they are informed of the various career paths and the distinguished professional growth opportunities provided by the bank.”

Al -Sumaiti advised young people wishing to work in the banking sector not to stop acquiring and developing the skills and experiences that enable them to succeed and excellence in the banking sector, such as decision -making skills, analysis and ability to solve problems, as well as financial technology, flexibility, adaptation, and continuous knowledge of regulations and financial laws and their updates.
