The Office of the Shipping Agent for Wooden Ships, affiliated with the Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation in Dubai, revealed that the volume of import and export of goods for wooden ship voyages reached 1.4 million tons, with a remarkable growth of 16% achieved in the “Hamriyah Port.”

The office stated to “Emirates Today” that the performance was driven by an increase in food and beverage trade volumes, especially with major trading partners, which reflects the strength of strong trade relations and the prominent role of “Hamriyah Port” in facilitating these exchanges.

The “Navigation Agent for Wooden Ships” is responsible for supervising wooden ships coming to Dubai, and organizing all operations related to them during their presence in the emirate’s waters, as part of the corporation’s continuous endeavor to develop the trade and business environment in Dubai, and make it a regional center that attracts various trade sectors.

The role of the office is highlighted in enhancing the movement of trade with neighboring countries, by harnessing all capabilities that contribute to achieving flexibility and smooth movement of ships entering and leaving Dubai, through three main ports and wharves, including: “Dubai Creek”, “Deira Port”, and “Dubai Creek”. Al Hamriyah Port, Dubai is a major destination for wooden ships carrying various types of goods and commercial goods from several countries in the Middle East and North Africa region.
