The Head of State and the Egyptian President discuss developments in the situation in the region

Yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, discussed with his brother, President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi, fraternal relations, aspects of cooperation and joint work between the two countries and ways to develop it in all fields, especially development, economic and investment, in a way that serves their interests. Joint efforts to achieve the aspirations of their peoples for development and prosperity.

His Highness and President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who is on a working visit to the country, also reviewed a number of regional and international issues and topics of common interest, and exchanged views on them, most notably developments in the situation in the Middle East region. In this context, they welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. They stressed the need to deliver sufficient humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip, and to continue diligent efforts to implement the “two-state solution,” as it is the way to achieve stability and lasting and comprehensive peace in the region, while His Excellency praised His Highness the President of the State praised the Egyptian efforts to support the brotherly Palestinian people, in addition to Egypt’s role in reaching a ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.

During the meeting, the two sides also welcomed the election of Joseph Aoun as President of the Lebanese Republic, hoping that this will contribute to restoring stability in brotherly Lebanon.

His Highness the Head of State and the Egyptian President affirmed their concern for Syria’s unity, stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity, in addition to the importance of starting a comprehensive political process that includes all components of the brotherly Syrian people.

The two sides stressed the need to work to promote peace and stability in the region for the benefit of its people.

The President of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, arrived earlier yesterday in Abu Dhabi on a working visit to the country.

Upon his arrival at the Presidential Airport in Abu Dhabi, he was greeted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him.

Also at the reception were His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Office for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, and Head of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs and Head of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office, Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei. And a number of officials.
