The World Utilities Congress has announced the agenda for the third edition of the conference, which is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, at the ADNEC Abu Dhabi from September 16 to 18.

The conference will host more than 300 ministers, CEOs from around the world, and industry leaders, to provide insights and analysis on demand-side management, modernizing the electricity grid, forging partnerships, and addressing water scarcity.

The agenda of the third edition of the conference focuses on global trends and efforts to address the challenges of the transition to sustainable energy sources, in light of the remarkable progress achieved by the UAE in modernizing the electricity grid to increase reliance on renewable energy sources.

The conference also focuses on key topics to leverage the pivotal role of the utilities sector in global energy transformation, with the aim of driving progress in vital areas and exploring opportunities to achieve carbon neutrality targets.

The conference is held under the theme “Towards a Safe and Sustainable Future for the Utilities Sector”, with the support of the Ministry of Energy and Infrastructure, the Abu Dhabi Department of Energy, the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, and the Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.

The conference will feature a host of international speakers in the fields of energy, water and district cooling facilities, with discussions covering a range of topics, from the role of the utilities sector in the global energy transformation, to practical discussions on the importance of modernizing the energy grid, demand-side management, water scarcity and the transition to electric power.

It is noteworthy that this year’s edition of the conference is being held in conjunction with the sixth session of the Arab Water Forum, which is organised by the Arab Water Council and the League of Arab States, to shed light on the challenges of water scarcity and water security.
