Ajman coach, Serbian Goran Tovacic, stressed that he will enter the Al-Nasr match scheduled for today, in the fifth round of the professional football league, without the slightest pressure, seeking to achieve victory and return from Al-Nasr Stadium with the three points.

Goran had left Al-Nasr training last season, after the seventh round of the league, due to poor results.

Goran told Emirates Al-Youm: “I do not concern myself with other things, including the fact that I coached Al-Nasr in the past, because I am thinking about one thing, which is winning, and how my team’s position improves in the general ranking table.”

Goran admitted that the start of the “Orange” in the league was not at the level of ambitions, with losses in three consecutive matches, stressing that his team is competing this season in order to compete for the league championship and the President’s Cup, and he said: “We will not attend in order to remain among the professionals only.”

The Ajman coach spoke about the reasons for the decline of Al-Wahda and Al-Nasr (his former teams) and Al-Wasl in the first four rounds of the league, and other matters that took place in the following dialogue:

What feeling will you have when you enter the Al-Nasr match, given that you coached the “Dean” last season?

There is no feeling different from the rest of the matches. I am not accustomed to playing my matches with different goals. The goal in all cases remains the same. I want to win in all confrontations, and I do not think about other things. Al-Nasr remains a big team, and I am with a big team as well. I focus at all times. With Ajman, I am not focusing on anything else, so I will play the Al-Nasr match without pressure, and for one thing only, which is to win.

Ajman has the best players this season, but the start was faltering. What is the reason?

Indeed, we were looking for a better start than what we got in the first three matches in the league, and I cannot explain what happened except that it was bad luck and nothing more. The team played well in the three matches against Al-Wahda and Shabab Al-Ahly, and perhaps the performance was lower in the Baniyas match. We missed a penalty kick in the Al Wahda match that would have given us at least a draw, but I am satisfied with what we presented.

When can Ajman be a contender for local championships, and what are the things it needs to achieve this?

This season, Ajman will be a competitor for the league championship and the President’s Cup. We did not come just to survive, but we have legitimate dreams about this matter. I know that the competition requires a lot of money to achieve this goal, and we cannot compare Ajman’s budget to any other major club. But we have a stronger weapon, which is that we believe in ourselves and believe in our abilities, and as long as we have this feeling, we will reach our goal. Only four rounds of the league have passed, and there is still a lot that we can achieve in the league and in the President’s Cup tournament.

There are clubs that entered the league strongly and then declined, such as Al-Wahda and Al-Nassr. Do you have an explanation?

To answer this question, I am supposed to have an analytical database on the reason why teams entered the competition strongly and then retreated. We are still at the beginning of the season, and there are general reasons for the fluctuation of any team, especially in the first periods, the most prominent of which is the lack of complete physical fitness and the lack of readiness of each team. Technical players, we have to wait at least until the end of the first round for the referee to be more logical, as it is not acceptable to judge any team after only four rounds have passed.

You trained many clubs in the league, including Al-Nasr, Al-Wahda and Ajman. What was your favorite experience?

Indeed, I have coached many clubs in the UAE League, and every experience I worked in was pleasing to me and I benefited greatly from it. I cannot choose a specific experience, so as long as I agreed to stand in the technical area of any club, I have made my decision with conviction, and I am aware of the circumstances and goals of each club, as well as the circumstances. His players, most importantly of all, is that every experience resulted in stronger relationships with club administrations, and this is what made me happy, and it is difficult to determine which experience is the best.
