The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research affirmed the development of the higher education and scientific research system, through a general vision for anticipating the future, based on several axes, including designing the integrated student journey from enrollment in higher education to the labor market, supporting higher education institutions, and designing a comprehensive framework for evaluating universities, In addition to developing scholarship services.

The Ministry stressed that it aims, through its integrated project to modernize its electronic services and provide them to all categories of customers proactively, to create an exceptional user experience centered around the student and higher education institutions, keeping pace with the needs of the labor market, to accelerate the integration of the student into the labor market immediately upon graduation, in line with Objectives of the “Zero-Government Bureaucracy” program.

The Ministry revealed that it has comprehensively redesigned the student journey to provide a seamless experience that meets students’ academic and professional needs and keeps pace with their aspirations, starting with providing higher education opportunities for all by reviewing and facilitating admission standards, through the registration and scholarship journey, all the way to the ratification and recognition of academic qualifications, and supporting students in Training and employment, and linking them to the labor market, to facilitate their transition from education to professional life with flexibility and efficiency.

The Ministry confirmed in the report “Achievements and the Forward-looking Vision for Student Empowerment,” reviewed by Emirates Today, that the modernization of the unified national registration system “NAPO 2.0” provided a smooth and effective registration experience, as it organizes the process of students starting their university and academic journey, according to fair and thoughtful standards, to… In addition to simplifying procedures to facilitate their university journey, she pointed out the launch of this advanced service as part of an integrated project to modernize its electronic services and enhance its proactiveness, in line with the “Tafsir” program. Government bureaucracy.

She pointed out that the system for promoting higher education and scientific research includes supporting higher education institutions, by focusing on building sustainable partnerships and cooperation to develop the educational system, improving the user experience in these institutions, simplifying procedures and increasing the effectiveness of operations by developing mechanisms for licensing, academic accreditation and oversight, which contributes to In improving efficiency and raising university satisfaction levels.

She pointed out that developing policies and procedures – to keep pace with the current stage and future trends – is one of the most important foundations for developing the higher education and scientific research system, through designing a comprehensive framework for evaluating institutions and programs based on their outputs, to ensure the quality of education and achieve the highest standards of efficiency, in addition to launching the recognition feature. Automatic granting of university certificates to students on scholarship outside the country, by granting scholarship students proactive recognition of their university certificates issued outside the country, without the need to submit a request for recognition as was previously done.


Features of “NAPO 2.0”

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research stated that the features of the updated “NAPO 2.0” system include enhancing student awareness in making decisions about their academic future, ensuring the best opportunities to achieve educational and professional goals, and enhancing students’ skills to suit the labor market. The most prominent updates to “NAPO 2.0” included reducing the requirements by 86%, and reducing the time to apply for the service by 69%, from eight minutes to one and a half minutes.
