The World Government Summit Foundation signed a memorandum of understanding with the Latin American Center for Public Administration and Development (CLAD), to enhance cooperation between the two sides and the active participation of the governments of Latin American and Caribbean countries in the activities of the World Government Summit, and to exchange best practices and experiences in supporting the achievement of sustainable development goals, through a new partnership. It adds to the summit’s initiatives aimed at expanding partnerships with governments and organizations in Latin America.

This came during the participation of the World Government Summit Foundation team in the 29th International Conference on State Reform and Public Administration, organized by the Latin American Center for Public Administration and Development (CLAD) in Brasilia, where the Director of the World Government Summit Foundation, Mohamed Yousef Al-Sharhan, delivered an opening speech at the conference. It focused on the future of governments and the importance of sustaining the development of government work.

The memorandum of understanding was signed by the Minister of Administration, Innovation and Public Services of Brazil, and the President of the Latin American Center for Public Administration and Development, Esther Dweck, the Director of the World Government Summit Foundation, Mohamed Al-Sharhan, and the Secretary-General of the Center, Conrado Ramos.

During the visit, the delegation of the World Government Summit Foundation participated in a meeting attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira, and the UAE Ambassador to Brazil, Saleh Ahmed Salem Al-Zuraim Al Suwaidi.

The delegation also held a number of meetings and meetings with government officials and business leaders from Mexico, Colombia, and Brazil, to introduce the summit and its role in efforts to create the future, and to support governments in shaping future paths in the areas most closely related to human life, and in enhancing cooperation with countries of the Global South and Latin America, and benefiting from the potential. Significant growth for the region in the areas of trade, technology and climate innovation.

The Foundation’s delegation gave an introductory presentation about the World Government Summit during a meeting in the Mexican Senate, in the presence of the President of the Senate, Gerardo Fernandez Noronha, and held meetings with the President of the Colombian Congress, Efrain Cepeda Sarabia, the Secretary General of the Senate of Colombia, Sol Cruz Bonilla, and with the former President of the Republic of Colombia. Nobel Prize laureate, Juan Manuel Santos Calderon, and the delegation also met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mexico, Maria Teresa Mercado.

The meetings included a meeting with the National Academy of Advanced Technology (RENATA), in the presence of the network’s president, Saeed Navi Lamak, and a dialogue with the Council of Ministers of the “CLAD” conference, in addition to an interview with “Congress”, the leading magazine in public policy in Colombia, which aimed to shed light on the role The growing World Government Summit in promoting innovation and international partnerships.

Mohammed Al-Sharhan stressed the keenness of the World Government Summit to strengthen international partnerships and expand the horizons of cooperation with governments and organizations, in a way that enhances the exchange of knowledge and explores the best ideas and practices that contribute to achieving sustainable development goals, anticipating and shaping the features of the future, noting that participation in the conference reflects the distinguished relations between The governments of the UAE and Brazil, which have witnessed great development in various fields.

He said that the World Government Summit Foundation continues to work to expand the circle of global partnerships, in various continents of the year, especially in the Latin American continent, as part of its directions aimed at supporting the global movement to create the future, through its annual platform that brings together countries, international organizations, experts, specialists and those interested in anticipating the future. In order to enhance international partnerships in creating solutions and exchanging ideas that enable governments to confront accelerating global challenges and make positive change in the lives of societies.

The new partnership embodies the role of the World Government Summit as a stimulating platform for international partnerships aimed at supporting efforts to create the future, and an open space for international cooperation that brings together governments, global companies, international organizations, and elite thought leaders and experts, in examining major global trends, charting future paths, and sharing knowledge, best experiences, and innovative solutions to challenges. facing societies in various fields.
