Dnata Travel revealed the most popular tourist destinations for the 2024 Union Day holiday among travelers from the United Arab Emirates, as the long weekend approaches. The list of the top 5 international destinations in terms of the number of reservations included Thailand, the Maldives, the United Kingdom, Sri Lanka and Turkey.
Thailand maintained its lead as the most popular international tourist destination, a position it occupied during the Union Day holiday last year, while Sri Lanka joined the list as a result of the volume of reservations almost doubling compared to the same period last year.
International destinations accounted for about 85% of total bookings, while local holidays in a country in the United Arab Emirates accounted for 15%, but this percentage may rise given that it is traditionally the practice to book local holidays on dates close to the start date of the holiday. Which is likely to increase the share of these holidays.
