Dubai Police sells 129 seized cars in a public auction

Director of the General Department of Dubai Traffic, Major General Engineer Mohammed Saif Al Zaffin, confirmed that the luxury cars present at the reservation counter will not be displayed in an auction that includes 129 reserved cars today.

Al-Zaffin said that some luxury vehicles, including a Ferrari Enzo, which were seized in criminal cases by the General Department of Criminal Investigations and Investigations, did not meet the requirements to be put up for auction, pointing out that if these luxury cars are put up, they will be offered in a special auction that suits their nature and prices.

The impoundment office section restricted the passage of Deira to 52 luxury cars worth millions of dirhams, which had been impounded for varying periods, due to “their owners having committed violations worthy of seizure, or being wanted by Interpol or the court, or due to the accumulation of violations on their owners, in addition to some of them possessing materials.” Harmful,” Emirates Al-Youm issued a special report on it.

A foreign outlet published “Emirates Today” pictures of the seized cars, without indicating their source, as part of a report about the Dubai Police’s intention to sell luxury cars in an auction that is the most expensive in the history of the police, given that it includes a rare Ferrari Enzo whose price exceeds one million dollars, in addition to a modern Ferrari. A black one whose price exceeds 700 thousand dirhams. Its owner, a Briton, left it in custody for 15 months, due to the accumulation of violations on it and his failure to pay.

Al-Zaffin explained that the Auctions Committee of the Dubai Police General Command has organized five auctions since the issuance of the local law of 2008, the proceeds of which have exceeded 10 million dirhams.

He pointed out that the cars offered for sale are selected from oldest to newest, to ensure proper use of them.

Today, the Dubai Police General Command is offering 129 vehicles for public auction, after they have met the period and legal requirements for their sale. Dubai Police has set the period from April 17 to 24 to inspect the cars offered for sale and invited those wishing to go to the auction, which will be held at the reservation window in the Al Qusais area.

Dubai Police announced its sixth auction after six months had passed since the seizure of the cars offered for sale, and notified their owners through local media outlets in Arabic and English and via its website for a month, based on Local Law No. 34 of 2008 regarding the disposal of vehicles, machinery and bicycles seized by it.

Dubai Police called on the owners and mortgagers of these impounded vehicles, which have been impounded for a period of six months, to review the fines sections in Al Barsha Traffic and Deira Traffic in the General Traffic Department to work on removing the reasons for the seizure and to receive the owned or mortgaged impounds, before they are seized at the auction.
