Emirates wins Business Traveller awards with three top honours at 2026 ceremony

Emirates wins Business Traveller awards at the 2026 Business Traveller Middle East gala, securing Best Airline, Best First Class and Best Airport Lounge for its Dubai First Class facility.

Emirates has taken three major accolades at the Business Traveller Middle East 2026 awards, winning Best Airline in the World plus separate honours for Best First Class and Best Airport Lounge for its Dubai International First Class Lounge. The prizes, decided by reader nominations and votes, were collected on behalf of the carrier by Adnan Kazim, Emirates’ Vice President and Chief Commercial Operations Officer. The wins underscore Emirates’ stated strategy to invest heavily in both onboard products and ground services as it expands its global network.

Award recognition and jury process

Business Traveller Middle East bases its awards on reader nominations and votes, positioning the program as a barometer of business traveller sentiment across the region. Emirates’ three wins reflect sustained customer preference in multiple categories, from cabin experience to premium ground facilities. Company officials said the recognition validates recent product rollouts and ongoing investment in service and infrastructure.

Details of the awards claimed

The airline secured the top prize for Best Airline in the World, while its First Class product was singled out as Best First Class by voters. Emirates’ Dubai International First Class Lounge won Best Airport Lounge in the Middle East, highlighting the carrier’s focus on the premium end of the market. Adnan Kazim accepted the trophies on stage and attributed the results to the airline’s staff and its continued capital expenditure on passenger experience.

Fleet modernisation and network expansion

Emirates said the awards come amid an accelerated fleet renewal programme covering 219 aircraft of the A380 and Boeing 777 families, alongside the continued introduction of new Airbus A350s. The carrier noted that the modernised and A350-equipped fleet now serves more than 70 destinations, with an overall global network approaching roughly 140 cities. Officials described the fleet strategy as central to delivering new cabin products and technological upgrades to passengers.

In-flight connectivity and Starlink rollout

As part of its passenger-experience investments, Emirates has begun equipping aircraft with high-speed Starlink internet, aiming to operate the world’s largest international widebody fleet with that capability once the programme is complete. To date, the airline has fitted 36 aircraft with the service, enabling customers to stream video, make calls, work, play online games and use social media throughout flights. Emirates said the expanded bandwidth and connectivity options are designed to meet growing demand for reliable onboard internet from business and leisure travellers alike.

New travel protection offering

In addition to product and technology upgrades, Emirates recently launched a Comprehensive Travel Insurance programme intended to give travellers additional protection and peace of mind. The insurance product complements the carrier’s enhanced ground and onboard services and is being promoted as part of a broader customer-care package. Company representatives presented the programme as another element of Emirates’ strategy to strengthen loyalty and reassure travellers in the post-pandemic market.

What the awards mean for the carrier’s positioning

The triple win at Business Traveller Middle East reinforces Emirates’ positioning as a leading international carrier for premium passengers and corporate flyers. The combination of cabin recognition, lounge distinction and top airline honours provides third-party validation of the carrier’s investments in lounges, first-class offerings and fleet upgrades. Emirates executives say the awards will be used to drive further improvements and to spotlight the airline’s commitment to service consistency across its global network.

The Business Traveller Middle East awards, centred on reader votes, offer a snapshot of traveller preferences across the region’s business travel sector. Emirates’ successes at the 2026 ceremony follow a series of product introductions and technology rollouts, and the airline has indicated it will continue prioritising customer-facing enhancements as it grows its network and fleet.
