Flydubai launches daily direct flights to Aleppo, expanding UAE–Syria air links

Flydubai launches daily direct flights from Dubai to Aleppo on July 20, boosting UAE-Syria air links with codeshare access, daily schedules and low fares.

Flydubai launches daily flights to Aleppo, with the carrier beginning a scheduled, year-round service between Dubai International and Aleppo International Airport on July 20. The inaugural FZ 1191 departed Terminal 3 in Dubai and was greeted in Aleppo with a traditional water salute and an official reception organized by local authorities. The new route is the airline’s second destination in Syria, complementing its existing service to Damascus.

Inaugural flight welcomed in Aleppo

The first flight arrived on July 20 and received a formal welcome by civic and aviation officials in Aleppo, underlining the significance of the connection. Passengers on the inaugural service were part of a ceremony that included customary ground celebrations and statements from airline representatives.

Flydubai said the launch marks an important milestone in its network expansion and highlighted the operational readiness of Aleppo International Airport (ALP) to receive scheduled international services. The carrier described the reception as a sign of growing demand for travel between the two cities.

Daily schedule and operational details

Flydubai will operate the Dubai–Aleppo service daily from Terminal 3 at Dubai International Airport, offering consistent connectivity every day of the week. The flight operates under flight number FZ 1191 for the inaugural departure and will continue as a scheduled daily rotation on the carrier’s timetable.

The airline indicated the service is intended to meet demand from business travellers, tourists and families visiting relatives, with timings optimized for easy connections at Dubai. Aircraft type and exact departure times were confirmed in the carrier’s schedule release accompanying the launch announcement.

Codeshare partnership with Emirates and passenger benefits

The new Aleppo service will be sold and operated within a codeshare arrangement with Emirates, allowing passengers to book on a single ticket across both carriers’ networks. The codeshare setup enables through-checked baggage to final destinations and streamlined transfer and check-in procedures for passengers connecting onward from Dubai.

Flydubai said the arrangement provides travellers with seamless access to a broader network of destinations served by both carriers, simplifying itineraries for passengers travelling beyond Dubai. The partnership is positioned to improve connectivity for the region and to support smoother travel logistics for transit passengers.

Fares and ticketing information

Flydubai released starting fares for the new route, with round-trip business-class fares from Dubai to Aleppo beginning at AED 8,000. Basic economy fares for the same direction start from AED 1,800, according to the airline’s published pricing at launch.

For travel from Aleppo to Dubai, the carrier listed round-trip business fares beginning at USD 2,000, while basic economy fares start from USD 470. Tickets are available for purchase through Flydubai and partner channels, and passengers are encouraged to check fare conditions, baggage allowances and refund rules at the time of booking.

Commercial strategy and market significance

Hamad Obaidallah, Flydubai’s Chief Commercial Officer, said the decision to add Aleppo reflects sustained demand for travel between the UAE and Syria and the carrier’s strategy to connect Dubai with major regional markets. He noted that since the launch of services to Damascus last year, Flydubai has seen robust interest in UAE–Syria travel corridors.

The move strengthens air links that support trade, business visits and family travel, providing an additional point of entry to northern Syria for Emirati and international travellers. Airline officials framed the service as part of a broader effort to expand Flydubai’s regional footprint while leveraging partnerships to offer more choice to customers.

Flydubai also emphasized the role of the route in supporting economic ties between the two countries, saying that improved air connectivity is expected to facilitate commerce and tourism. The carrier’s network planning team identified Aleppo as a market with both historical and commercial significance, making it a priority for route development.

Flydubai’s expansion to Aleppo follows a pattern of reintroducing and increasing scheduled services in the Levant region, with a focus on daily frequencies and codeshare cooperation to maximize connectivity. The airline expects the daily rotation to provide predictable capacity and to attract a mix of leisure and business passengers who rely on regular, frequent services.

The new service comes as part of Flydubai’s wider network growth this year and aligns with the airline’s stated goal of linking Dubai to strategically important regional cities. Travelers planning to use the new route should review passport, visa and entry requirements for travel to Syria and the UAE, and confirm schedules and fare conditions with the airline before booking.

Passengers and travel agents can book seats on the new Dubai–Aleppo flights through Flydubai’s sales channels and through Emirates where codeshare seats are offered, with the airlines advising customers to verify connection times and baggage transfer procedures when purchasing combined itineraries.
