The Global Future Councils, organized by the UAE government and the World Economic Forum, have transformed from a platform for generating and exchanging ideas and visions into a platform for making a positive impact, and an open international workshop for shaping future paths for vital sectors, drawing up a methodology for global economies, and strengthening international efforts to advance societies and enable them to keep pace with rapid developments. And anticipating future challenges imposed by unprecedented technological progress, as the positive impact of the councils’ work has reached more than 680 million people in 158 countries.

Since their launch in 2008, the Global Future Councils have continued to explore the future of the sectors most closely related to the lives of human societies, as they have been organized into more than 900 councils over a period of 16 years, including more than 12,000 participants.

The Global Future Councils 2024 will witness the organization of the “Impact Exhibition”, which introduces the most prominent milestones in the role of the councils over the past years, and what they have achieved in terms of providing important ideas, visions, proposals and guidance that formed the solid foundation for various successful international initiatives that achieved a long-term impact at the local and global levels.

This international platform reviews the 15-year history of the positive and fruitful partnership between the UAE government and the World Economic Forum, and the qualitative impact that the councils have had on the lives of hundreds of millions around the world, as part of its meetings in which more than 500 experts, officials and specialists from 80 countries around the world participate. Within 30 councils, it examines future opportunities in five main areas: technology and artificial intelligence, environment and climate, governance, economy and finance, and society.

The positive impact of the councils’ work reached more than 680 million people in 158 countries, while the advanced manufacturing sector witnessed the participation of 75 companies in 30 countries in projects that reflected positively on the global economy. In the flexible governance sector, the councils’ ideas supported the efforts of seven countries and 50 global leaders in devising mechanisms and solutions to enhance government readiness for the future, and contributed to bringing together 82 companies in 31 countries to work on challenges related to transparency and reliability.

30 companies around the world worked to implement a number of council ideas in the labor sector and job industry, in a way that had a positive impact on 2.5 million people, while the councils’ outputs contributed to improving the lives of 650 million people in 59 countries, through the work of 370 companies to develop ideas and transform them into initiatives. To improve the education sector.

The Global Future Councils look forward to continuing to make a positive impact on the lives of societies, the work of governments, and the efficiency of the economic and technological sectors, by intensifying work on defining future paths and anticipating its challenges, and participating in laying the foundations and ideas to support the design and innovation of solutions that enable human empowerment.

The global future councils focus on strategic topics that have served as accelerators for economic growth, societal progress, and government development. The councils’ contributions embody what they represent as an international system of strategic intelligence, a platform for integrating visions, setting global future goals and directions, and enabling governments, institutions, and individuals to make optimal use of future opportunities.

Among the most prominent topics that the “Global Future Councils” have proactively enhanced international awareness of their importance over the past years are artificial intelligence, innovation, entrepreneurship, cybersecurity, climate action, carbon neutrality, advanced health care, adopting technology applications, strategic partnerships, and capacity building. Developing skills, enhancing learning opportunities, development accelerators, sustainability and efficiency, and anticipating the future.

The Global Future Councils constitute a leading network in the world that encourages diversity of visions and supports the dissemination of innovative and creative strategic ideas with promising potential in achieving positive global transformations. It brings together thought leaders from academic circles, business sectors, governments and international organizations.

Since its launch, the Global Future Councils have succeeded in expanding their regional and international representation to include 80 countries.

In its current session, it includes 30 specialized councils for sectors vital to the future of humanity, with membership distributed among the business sector, academic institutions, think tanks, public figures, international organizations, and community institutions.

The “Global Future Councils 2024” in Dubai will discuss vital topics, most notably the future of artificial intelligence, food and water security, the geopolitical future, responsible investment, fair data, energy transformation, the future of cities, the future of growth, climate humanitarian work, the quantum economy, advanced manufacturing and value chains. , job creation, resilient financial systems, responsible use of resources, technology policies, the future of trade and investment, a fair green economy, and good governance.

The global future councils will work to discuss ideas, review experiences, and share expertise in closed discussion panels and interactive dialogue sessions, focusing on generating ideas and innovating solutions related to vital fields, within a set of outputs and recommendations that will shape the agenda of the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos in its next session in January 2025.
