Human stories in Zayed’s life

The life of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, was filled with many humanitarian stances, inside and outside the country, and it remained a legacy passed down through generations, and told by the old to the young, situations in which Zayed was evident as a role model and a human being.

During a previous television interview, Saeed bin Dari Al-Falahi narrated some of these positions, especially since he was one of the companions of the late man, God Almighty willing.

Al-Falahi said that one day, a woman (of the nationality of an Arab country) called, crying because of her husband’s imprisonment, following a financial loss in a business project, and the accumulation of debts on him, asking for her help and his release, especially since he is the sole breadwinner for her family, so that she could feed her children, and she asked She told Sheikh Zayed about her problem, confirming that she and her husband came to the country looking for good, but fate led them into this problem.

He added that as soon as the late great man heard her problem, he ordered the husband’s case to be investigated, and if his arrest was only due to debt, it would be paid and the equivalent of money would be given so that he could start his project again.

According to Al-Falahi, in 1982, Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, was driving his car himself, and when he reached one of the closed roundabouts, where traffic priority was for those coming from the right, unlike the rest of the roundabouts, he was surprised by a taxi driven by a driver (of the nationality of an Asian country). ) He collided with his car so hard that, may God have mercy on him, he was injured in his shoulder, and he traveled abroad for treatment, and after he realized that the priority of traffic in that roundabout was for the taxi driver, he pardoned him. And please him.

Al-Falahi narrated that one of the situations that reflects the generosity of Sheikh Zayed, may God have mercy on him, during his trip for treatment in the United States, which took nearly seven months, is that he learned that a group of Arabs were visiting this hospital in which he was being treated, and some of them were staying in hotels adjacent to the hospital, so he issued a statement. His orders were for the hospital restaurant to open its doors to its visitors at his own expense day and night, and the food was not limited to Arabs only, but also included visitors, regardless of their religions and nationalities.

Al-Falahi continued: “One day, may God have mercy on him, he was driving around in his car, inspecting the Abu Dhabi Corniche, when he noticed an Arab woman who recognized him from afar and began to greet him. When he approached her, he heard her say that she wished to shake hands with Sheikh Zayed, so he ordered the driver to stop and called her, so she ran to greet him, and of course The situation was beyond her imagination and comprehension, so she held her tongue, shook his hand, may God have mercy on him, and continued. She held his hand without saying a word, and with his humanity and compassion, he realized what she was in, so he began to comfort her, smile at her, and ask her about her and her family’s conditions, but she remained staring without a word, so he asked her about her need, and she said that she had spent 16 years in the Emirates, and she only wanted his safety. He asked her. If she needed money, she said, “We are a well-off family, and I only dreamed of shaking your hand, because you are the only Arab leader that people can approach.” They shake hands with him, and I never dreamed of that in my country.”

So he continued, may God have mercy on him, comforting her with his affectionate smile, and came back to ask her, “Do you need something?” Do you have a problem for us to solve for you?

She said impulsively, “Now my problem has begun.” He smiled, may God have mercy on him, saying, “Before he recognizes her problem, we will solve it for you, God willing.” He asked her, “What is your problem?” She said: “My family, relatives, and friends will not believe that I shook Sheikh Zayed’s hand hand in hand.” He laughed, may God have mercy on him, and said to her. :We will make them believe.

Al-Falahi adds: “He ordered me, may God have mercy on him, to take her phone number, and in the evening I was knocking on the door of her house, and I had a sum of money, a set of valuable gifts, and a women’s watch with his picture on it, may God have mercy on him, and I delivered a message from him: Now they will believe that you shook Zayed’s hand.” “Bid.”
