The national bodybuilding team won seven new medals on the second day of the West Asian Championship, which concluded the day before yesterday in the Sultanate of Oman, with the participation of 270 players from 13 countries.
The seven medals were two gold, two silver and three bronze, bringing the total achieved by the team at the end of the tournament to 12 medals, the Champion of Champions Cup and two professional cards.
The second day’s medals were won by Ahmed Al Mualla (gold in the classic masters category), and Karim Mohsen (gold under 90 kg), while Rashid Al Shamili won the silver medal in the masters category (over 80 kg), while Abdullah Al Marzouqi won the silver under 85 kg. The bronze medals were won by: Mohammed Ihab for youth (under 75 kg), Mohammed Al Balushi (under 65 kg), and Saber Al Shehhi (under 90 kg).
Ahmed Al Mualla won fourth place in the Classic category over 180 kg, Thani Khamis won fifth place in the Master category (under 80 kg), and Rashid Al Shamili won fifth place in the under 90 kg weight category.
For his part, the Board Member of the UAE Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation, Head of the Technical Committee, Mohammed Shaheen Al Hosani, described the technical levels presented by the UAE team in the championship as outstanding, noting that winning 12 medals, the Champion of Champions Cup, and two professional cards in a strong championship is a great achievement.
