This morning, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Armed Forces presented to local and international media representatives a large collection of Iranian-made military equipment, including drones, mines and innovative devices, which our armed forces acquired as part of their participation in the operations of the Arab coalition forces in Yemen. To restore legitimacy from the Houthi militias.
The military pieces presented, with evidence and evidence, confirmed Iran’s explicit involvement in providing military support to the Houthi militias in Yemen, its smuggling of advanced weapons and ammunition to the Houthis, and its violation of Security Council and United Nations resolutions regarding the ban on the supply of arms to Yemen.
Two officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Armed Forces gave a brief explanation of the military weapons that the Arab coalition forces were able to acquire during the recent period in Yemen, and evidence showed that they were manufactured, developed, and smuggled from Iran.
It included drones, ballistic missiles, sea and land explosive devices, anti-ship missiles, sniper weapons, suicide boats and fuel tanks for Scud ballistic missiles.
They stressed the keenness of the UAE, in coordination with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Saudi Arabia, to inform the United Nations periodically about Iranian violations, as the United Nations team concerned with monitoring the implementation of UN Security Council Resolutions No. 2216 and 2231 regarding the arms embargo and the provision of military support to the Houthi militias was informed, and it is expected that this will be done. The final report on Iranian violations of these two resolutions will be announced soon.
They stressed that the UN Security Council appreciates the UAE’s efforts to remove mines that threaten the lives of civilians in Yemen, pointing out the keenness of the UAE forces to work with the Arab coalition forces and friendly countries in order to protect civilians and children from the danger of mines, especially since the Houthi militias have deployed large numbers of mines. Innovative mines are in the form of water bottles, cooking cans, and stones, which are difficult to detect in the surrounding environment by civilians.
An official in the armed forces indicated that since the beginning of the war, more than 30,000 land and sea mines have been removed to secure the lives of individuals and maritime shipping lines. Likewise, they have been removed by our brothers on the Saudi side, at a rate of approximately 500 to 1,000 mines per day.
He stressed, “Based on the evidence and evidence that we have seen in the war in Yemen, we can be certain that the Houthi militias obtain external assistance through weapons smuggling, as the Houthi is a simple village person who lives in the mountainous areas. He cannot obtain such technologies unless he is supported.” From the outside.”
He pointed out, “Although they are non-state militias, they have advanced capabilities, as they possess ballistic missiles, drones, explosive devices, anti-tank weapons, and other various types of weapons and ammunition.”
He stressed that “all evidence indicates that Iran is the one providing this foreign assistance, and there is a great similarity to what was monitored by the Hezbollah group and in Iraq as well,” noting that “these weapons have been verified and confirmed by the United Nations, the United States, and other governments.” and independent experts.
An explanation of the evidence proving Iran’s involvement in supplying the Houthis with weapons is the presence of military pieces with terms written on them in the Persian language, which indicates that Iran is the source of these weapons, as well as the presence of Iranian experts providing direct support to the Houthi militias, in addition to the seizure of other pieces containing Iranian-made components, and systems. The components are consistent with documented weapons used by other Iranian proxies in Iraq, Syria, and other countries, and seized dual-use equipment for the purpose of making missiles. A missile attack, as well as the seizure of some materials while being smuggled into Yemen.”
He added that there are Iranian military shipments that some countries were able to seize, during the recent period, and attempted to deliver them to the Houthi militias in Yemen, including fuel tanks used for ballistic missiles, which confirms Iran’s involvement in smuggling advanced weapons to the Houthi militias, and its violation of international resolutions.
He pointed out that the methods of the Houthi militias are constantly changing and developing on the battlefield, and this confirms that there are external parties that support this group and benefit from the prolongation of this war, adding that “despite the development of the Houthis’ methods, the countermeasures taken by the Arab coalition have proven effective against these threats.”
He stressed that the Houthis use these weapons without discrimination, whether by targeting civilian areas with ballistic missiles or using weapons that have a significant impact on civilians, such as (mines, explosive devices), pointing out that these seizures confirm that the Houthis are a barbaric group that throws mines randomly, targeting innocent people. The Yemeni people, old and young, even livestock were not spared.
He stressed the determination of the Arab coalition forces to eliminate the Houthis who are gambling to threaten commercial and humanitarian maritime shipping lines in Yemen, pointing to the efforts of our UAE armed forces in training members of the Yemeni army on methods of dismantling mines at a high level.
He pointed out that more than 100 ballistic missiles fell on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Houthi militias’ use of advanced military equipment, such as drones, guided weapons, and sea and land mines, confirming the evidence of the advanced military capabilities possessed by the Houthi militias with Iranian support.
